You can have it all. Just not all at once. -Oprah
As much as I’ve been loving this quote lately, it continues to be a hard lesson. Especially when it appears Oprah has it all at once!
The comparison game … a dirty trap!
I think those rolling hills I describe in the vlog (above) are built on boundaries and a healthy level of acceptance.
Yes, we have to do our part. We can’t just allow ourselves to be blown around in the winds of circumstance. We have to be firm in our intentions, even if that means letting go on occasion.
If your intention is to work out most days and it’s 9pm and you still haven’t worked out, I suggest a light stretch (even with a glass of wine beside you) rather than nothing. We fulfill the intention, despite it NOT being what we thought it would look like. There’s always tomorrow.
And yet tomorrow’s efforts are easier met if today’s intentions remained intact.
This deliberate practice could be done for anything: meditation, eating better, working on a creative project, spending time with your family, etc.
Make. The. Time.
We all have five minutes.
Following through with the intention is enough to satisfy the integrity of the effort, keeping that “balance” in place, those rolling hills, rolling.
I leave you with this: What in your life could benefit from at least five minutes of deliberate practice a day?
